Founded by the Zinsers

The White Sulphur Springs Labor Day Rodeo features eight events including bare back riding, saddle bronc riding, barrel racing, team roping and break away roping. The event is double sanctioned by the IPRA and MSRA. The winner of the bronc rider award earns $250 in bonus money.

The rodeo is very popular throughout the western United States, with Wyoming, South Dakota and Texas listing it as their official state sport. It is also a popular sport in Canada, where there are legislative efforts to make it the official sport.

The company got its start by providing stock for regional rodeos. When the Zinsers purchased a mare named Nightmare, she turned out to be an incredible bucking horse. She won the IPRA world championship bareback in 1972, ’73 and ’74. She was later used as the dam for the stud horses Straight Jacket, Night Gazer and Pickket Pro Rodeo, and her offspring include NFR bucking horses like MGM Deuces Night and Real Deal.
